| 1. The organizing committee
sustained by the Ski
Team Fassa, organizes the Sellaronda Skimarathon,
a touring ski competition taking place
on the Sellaronda ski slopes at night. The competition
track includes the following villages
and passing in the centres of, Canazei (Val
di Fassa), Selva (Val Gardena), Corvara (Val
Badia), Arabba (Livinallongo). The competition
will take place on Friday, 5. March 2010, starting
in Canazei at 6 p.m.
2. The competition is open to 2-people-teams.
The start will be in line. Teams can include two
men, two women or a man and a woman. Mixed
teams will be included for the classification In
the men’s category. Participants must have
come of age by the 5. March 2010. They must
have an updated 2010 Winter Sports Federation
card as well as a valid updated certificate
showing their fitness for competitive sporting
activity, released by a sports physician. The
competition is open to Italian and foreign teams
including athletes belonging to different sporting
associations. Foreign participants must have an
updated card that Is valid In their countries. The
maximum number of participants amounts to
280 couples.
The draw of the couples will be done on Monday, 8 February
2010 at 3 p.m., c/o the town hall of Canazei.
3. The maximum time for the completion of the
competition amounts to 6.15 hours.
Teams with a partial time higher than 1 hour
25 in Selva, 2 hours 55 in Corvara, 4.30
hours in Arabba will in any case be excluded
from the race.
Teams exceeding the maximal settled times will
be disqualified.
The organizers will take excluded teams to the
finishing line.
4. Each team must have the following equipment:
- 2 pairs
of touring skis with safety toe- and heel bindings and
their respective sealskins;
- 2 rucksack with ski holder;
- 1 thermal cloth and first-aid
kit;
- 1 pair of spare sealskins;
- 2 ARVAS to be carried and
turned on during the competition on frequency 457;
- 2 helmets
for the descent, in accordance with ENI 12492 (U.I.A.A.106).
The use of the MTB
helmet Is forbidden;
- 2 front lamps (a parabola of minimum
60.
- 2 wind-cheaters
The equipment must meet touring skiing
requirements.
The Organizers reserve the right to check
equipment before, during and after the competition.
The skis used by participants must have sharp
edges and touring skiing bindings. Ski boots
must have VIBRAM soles. Cross-country skiing
boots and skis are not accepted.
Helmets with transparent visor are suggested.
5. The starting numbers must be clearly and completely
visible. |

6. Skis and Skins can only be replaced without
help in the designated marked out area. Otherwise
the team will be eliminated.
The area for the changing shall be left in pairs.
Fixed and mobile check points will be set
up along the competition track, which will be
marked out by means flags, reflecting tape,
flashing and torch lights.
7. Should weather conditions be dangerous for
participants, the Jury has the unquestionable
authority to change the track, suspend, put off
or cancel the competition at any time. Should
the competition be cancelled, the registration
fee would not be refound.
8. Team members must march close to each other
during the whole competition. Team members
keeping at a distance of more than 20 m will
be disqualified. If needed, team members may
help each other. Prosecution of race for teams
with one competitor is strictly forbidden. It is
compulsory to communicate one’s withdrawal
from the competition, whatever the reason may
be, at the closest area for the changing.
9. Failure to reach the check points set up by the
Organizers will result in disqualification.
Disqualification will also apply if participants:

- behave unfairly or do not comply with safety
provision;
- do not follow the sporting code of conduct;
- pass too late at the gates of Selva, Corvara
and Arabba or complete the competition too late
(maximum time 6 hours 15 Furthermore, the
jury decides independently on possible penalties
of the teams.
10. Registration relieves the Organizers of civil and
criminal liability for any damage that may occur
to people or property before, during and after
the competition or in connection with it. The
Committee has taken out an insurance against
civil liability for risks related to the organization
of the competition. Participants are not covered
by this insurance.
11. The organizing Committee reserves the right
to change whatever is necessary to improve
the competition. This competition is included in
the touring skiing circuit “Coppa delle Dolomiti,
memorial Fabio Stedile”.
12. Complaints must be submitted to the Jury within
one hour after the end of the race, together with
50 Euro. This amount will be refunded If the
complaint will be accepted.
13. Anything not mentioned in these rules, the provisions
of R.F.T. and of the “Skierís calendar
2009/10” apply to this competition. |
